Black Girls Rising is a black-led, youth-focused organisation based in Cape Town that works to empower the next generation of young women climate-activist leaders.

PRACTICE
We encourage black girls' urgency to advocate for change through internal projects and campaigns to practice becoming leaders and organizers, equipping them with the skills to analyze data, conduct research, and communicate their message effectively. Leading within enhances their confidence and competence to navigate complex systems.
LEAD
We prepare and empower young black girls to drive local change locally and globally by providing opportunities and creating pathways for them to increase their impact by partnering with organisations working towards the sustainability, Just transition and net zero and preparing them to further their education in Green Job-related sectors.

TRAIN
We develop and implement educational programs that increase awareness of climate change and sustainable practices tailored to the experiences and perspectives of black girls. As well as creating mentorship and leadership development initiatives to build the capacity and confidence of black girls to take on leadership roles in climate advocacy and solutions.
