RAISE YOUR VOICE PODCAST

We want to amplify stories of young black women leading change in their communities across Africa. To do this, our Raise Your Voice Podcast trains our hosts to facilitate the podcast and create a space to amplify other girls and young women’s voices and stories These podcasts highlight and amplify the voices and stories of young change-makers across Africa. In doing so, they hope to disrupt dominant narratives and representations of blackness. Through the podcast’s dissemination, these podcasts aim to create a network of like-minded individuals who share common challenges and aspirations.

Beneficiaries in this programme are existing beneficiaries of the Rising in Leadership Programme. They are trained by experts on how to interview others and create podcasts. Raise Your Voice Podcasts interview other girls and young women across Africa – some of whom are connected to Black Girls Rising, and some who are not. These podcasts are shared on our website and other audio platforms such as Spotify. On average, we publish 10 podcasts per year. You can listen to the podcasts here. (As of March 2024 this is yet to be published.)
